Plagiarism

Journal of Business and Contemporary Management Review (BCM Review) is committed to maintaining academic integrity, publication ethics, and the scholarly quality of all published articles. Therefore, all submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before entering the peer-review process and prior to publication.

Authors are required to submit original work that is free from plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and other forms of publication misconduct.

Similarity Index Screening

All manuscripts will be screened using recognized plagiarism-detection software, including but not limited to:

  • Turnitin
  • iThenticate
  • Crossref Similarity Check
  • Other equivalent screening tools used by the editorial team

The journal applies the following criteria:

  • Maximum Similarity Index: 20%.
  • Similarity originating from a single source must not indicate substantial plagiarism.
  • Properly cited quotations, references, journal templates, and standard methodological expressions may be excluded from the similarity assessment at the discretion of the editors.

Manuscripts exceeding the 20% threshold may:

  • Be returned to the author for revision; or
  • Be rejected immediately if substantial plagiarism is identified (above 50%).

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Content Policy

BCM Review recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies may be used as limited support tools during manuscript preparation. However, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content.

To ensure scholarly authenticity, manuscripts may be evaluated using AI-content detection tools when deemed necessary.

The BCM Review applies the following criteria:

  • AI-generated content detection score must not exceed 20%.
  • Authors may be required to revise manuscripts exceeding the accepted threshold.
  • AI tools must not be used to generate research data, manipulate results, create fictitious references, or replace scholarly analysis and interpretation.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the originality of their manuscripts.
  • Providing proper citation and attribution for all sources.
  • Avoiding direct plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, excessive self-plagiarism, and inappropriate paraphrasing.
  • Disclosing the use of AI tools when utilized for language editing or technical assistance.

Actions for Violations

If publication ethics violations are discovered before or after publication, the BCM Review reserves the right to:

  • Request clarification from the author(s).
  • Issue a correction notice.
  • Retract the article.
  • Remove the publication from the journal platform when necessary.
